The mission of HSCS's Student Council is to impact lives and ensure all students are heard.
The Holy Spirit Student Council (6th-8th grade students) provides the voice for solutions to problems and opportunities affecting students. Members of the Student Council are responsible for ensuring all students are informed of upcoming events, including Middle School dances and school-wide community service projects.
Students in the 6th through 8th grade are eligible for participation.
Members are elected by their classmates.
Officers comprise the Executive Council and are members of the 7th and 8th grades. These positions include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
All members are expected to remain in good academic and conduct standing, and performance is monitored periodically. Members who do not meet the required standards are reviewed by the Selection Committee and will be subject to removal from the Student Council.
National Junior Honor Society
The mission of NJHS is to give exemplary students an arena to demonstrate and be recognized for their excellence through service and academics.
The National Junior Honor Society is an organization that promotes exceptional scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership, and exemplary qualities of character. Membership is open to sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students.
The National Junior Honor Society Chapter of Holy Spirit Catholic School is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious national organization. Membership is open to those students who meet the required standards in five areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. Criteria for selection are established by the national office of NJHS and have been revised to meet our local chapter's needs. Students are selected to be members by a 5-member Faculty Council appointed by the principal. In addition to membership into NJHS, students complete various community service projects throughout the year.
